INDIANPOLIS (April 19, 2012) – There’s now a name associated to the distinct cracking and throaty sound of fire-breathing 800-horsepower short course off road trucks on the Traxxas TORC Series, presented by AMSOIL – MagnaFlow Exhaust Products.
The California-based manufacturer of the off-road market leading performance exhaust system is now the official exhaust of the Traxxas TORC Series, beginning this weekend, April 20-21, at fabled NASCAR venue Charlotte Motor Speedway.
“The Traxxas TORC Series is pleased to welcome MagnaFlow Exhaust Products to our core group of premier sponsors for the 2012 competition season,” said Kevin Miller, President of USAC. “MagnaFlow is synonymous with excellence in off-road performance and we look forward to helping them expand their brand reach through our eight high profile events, including our two cornerstone events at Crandon and Bark River, along with two NASCAR venues – Charlotte & Chicago – and the world’s No. 1 motocross venue – RedBud.”
“MagnaFlow found its way into short course off-road racing primarily through demand,” says company spokesman Richard Waitas. “With racers needing cost-effective, high quality stainless steel exhaust components that can endure the harsh environment of short course racing while supporting the massive power that the trucks produce, MagnaFlow’s entrance into short course racing was as much welcome as it was needed.”
“Back from the days of Ivan Stewart and Baja, MagnaFlow has traced a long line of off-road participation,” said Waitas. “MagnaFlow’s dyno-proven designs have always had the reputation of low restriction and high flow capacity. Big power support and excellent sound suppression capabilities make MagnaFlow products an easy choice for racers.”
From Robby Gordon’s multi-stage winning effort at the brutal South American Dakar Rally effort this year to legendary monster truck driver Dennis Anderson’s 1,400 horsepower behemoth Grave Digger, MagnaFlow products have endured the most torturous types of racing and motorsport competition. The Traxxas TORC Series will be no different, showcasing the MagnaFlow product on the fastest short course off-road track in the world – Crandon International Off-Road Raceway – where speeds hit triple digits.
“MagnaFlow is pumped about expanding its motorsport pedigree into the world of TORC,” added Waitas. “As off-road - and in particular short course - have evolved, the need for high quality stainless steel exhaust systems has grown tremendously. MagnaFlow is proud to put its product to the test on the TORC Series, pushing the limits of new development by participating in this fast-paced, horsepower-infused racing world.”
