Monster Energy driver and points leader, Rick Huseman, who nearly broke the Crandon International Off Road Raceway track record previously set by Johnny Greaves in 2008, will continue on his chase for a championship in the Kumho Tires PRO 4x4 class. Huseman will not be unchallenged, as Rockstar driver Kyle LeDuc and veteran drivers Johnny Greaves and AMSOIL powerhouse Scott Douglas have proved that they will not go quietly. The newest member of the Monster Army, PRO Light driver Casey Currie, continues in his quest for his second win of 2009. This has proved to be a daunting task for Currie, the youngest driver in his class, as veteran drivers Jeff Kincaid, Chad Hord, and Marty Hart have continued to dominate the class in the point’s race. The original off-road track was 5 miles, racers were expected to complete 20 laps for a total of 100 miles, and thus the U.P. Off Road 100 was born. Over the years, the course continued to be shortened and reconfigured into the modern day track (1.5 miles). Bark River is said to be one of the most challenging courses on the TORC Series schedule, where drivers can reach up to 90 miles per hour with the highest elevation change on the circuit. The Bark River International Raceway received additional international recognition in 2007 with the launch of the XBOX 360 video game DIRT. The BRIR is one of the featured courses in the game, allowing fans to enjoy Bark River’s top notch racing action all year round.
